About the Author
Joan London holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language. She has taught English, and worked as a bookseller. London writes in the genres of fiction, screenplays and short stories. Currently, she lives in Fremantle, Western Australia. London’s awards include the 1986 and 2002 Age Book of the Year, the 1994 Steele Rudd Award and the 1994 Western Australian Premier's Book Award for Fiction. She was shortlisted for the 2002 Miles Franklin Award, the 2002 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, and 2002 WA Premier’s Literary Award. Gilgamesh (US February 2004 Bolinda Audio Release) has been longlisted for the 2004 Orange Prize (shortlist to be announced on April 27 and winner on June 8).
